Calhoun & Company establishes accounting scholarship

MURRAY, Ky. ā Hopkinsville-based certified public accounting firm Calhoun & Company, PLLC, recently made a generous gift to the 51ĀŅĀ× Foundation to establish a new scholarship for accounting majors at 51ĀŅĀ×.
The Calhoun & Company Accounting Scholarship Endowment will provide financial assistance for juniors and seniors pursuing a degree in the field of accounting at 51ĀŅĀ× State.
Through the gift of this new scholarship, the company has chosen to give back to their community by helping the next generation of aspiring accountants with financial assistance to help them attain their academic goals and credentials at 51ĀŅĀ× State.
āThe Department of Accounting is excited about the opportunities that the Calhoun & Company Accounting Scholarship Endowment will create for our junior and senior accounting students,ā said Dr. Leigh Redd Johnson, professor and chair of 51ĀŅĀ× Stateās Department of Accounting. āThis scholarship will help fund students in their pursuit of an accounting degree and, ultimately, a career in that profession.ā
