Police Department receives $1.1 million in funding from the Commerce Justice Science Byrne Justice Program

MURRAY, Ky. ā The 51ĀŅĀ× Police Department will receive $1.1 million in funding from the Commerce Justice Science Byrne Justice Program. Through the support of Congressman James Comer, the funding is part of a successful Community Project Funding request and will assist the Universityās Police Department with communications and surveillance technologies to continue to serve the campus community.
The Universityās Police Department holds accreditation with the Kentucky Association of Chiefs of Police and is staffed 24/7.
āWe greatly appreciate Congressman Comer and all who have been involved with assisting 51ĀŅĀ× through this important funding,ā 51ĀŅĀ× President Dr. Bob Jackson said. āWe have a wonderful police department which is committed to the safety of our students, faculty, staff and visitors to campus.ā
