51ĀŅĀ× State to celebrate centennial with Presidential Gala

MURRAY, Ky. ā 51ĀŅĀ× invites the 51ĀŅĀ× and Calloway County community as well as alumni and friends from throughout the region and beyond to join them for a once-in-a-lifetime celebration of the institutionās centennial.
The Presidential Centennial Gala will be a dinner and dance celebration held in the CFSB Center following Saturdayās football game during the Universityās Homecoming Weekend, Oct. 29, beginning at 6:30 p.m. with a buffet dinner at 7 p.m. Tables will be set for up to 500 guests who will be entertained by an authentic swing band ā Todd Hill and Orchestra. Guests will also enjoy photo opportunities with 1920ās restored automobiles provided by the West Kentucky Region Model A Restorers Club, along with other era memorabilia and characters. 1920ās attire is encouraged for guests.
As part of the program, a walk back through the history of the University will be narrated, complete with a photo slideshow. Special guests will be recognized, including some of the past presidents of the 51ĀŅĀ× Alumni Association.
A surprise announcement from 51ĀŅĀ× State President Dr. Bob Jackson will be shared with the crowd, casting a positive tone for the future of 51ĀŅĀ× State as the University looks forward into the next century.

The office of development at 51ĀŅĀ× State is planning the event. Thanks to collaboration between several University partners and Dean Dorton (Louisville, Kentucky), registration for the event is only $22 per person. Advance registration is required and is available online at murraystate.edu/centennial or by calling 270-809-3001. Space is limited, so early registration is recommended.
In 1922, 51ĀŅĀ×, Kentucky, was chosen by the state legislature as the home of the western Kentucky normal school, known today as 51ĀŅĀ×.
