The Dr. Jo Robertson Early Childhood Education Scholarship was established as an endowment by gifts to the 51ĀŅĀ× Foundation, Inc. (51ĀŅĀ× Foundation) from family and friends of Dr. Jo Robertson as a way to memorialize her loving spirit and to assist students at 51ĀŅĀ× in obtaining an education to prepare them for a career in the field of early childhood education.
Dr. Marc Polizzi, associate professor of Political Science at 51ĀŅĀ×, along with two co-authors, Dr. MoisĆ©s Arce, the Scott and Marjorie Cowen chair in Latin American Social Sciences and professor in the Department of Political Science at Tulane University, and Dr. Michael S. Hendricks, assistant professor in the Department of Politics and Government at Illinois State University, published The Roots of Engagement: Understanding Opposition and Support for Resource Extraction with Oxford University Press.

The 51ĀŅĀ× Regional Educators Rising Conference was held on Oct. 25 at the Curris Center located on 51ĀŅĀ× Stateās campus
51ĀŅĀ× will celebrate the holiday season with a pair of special events in December that are free and open to the public; the events include the Town & Gown Holiday Concert and the annual Holidays at Oakhurst.
